When Shall I Meet My Soul Mate? by Chrissie Blaze

Happy Couple When Shall I Meet My Soul Mate? by Chrissie BlazeOne of the number one questions for many astrogers is when the person will meet their soul mate?  The type of astrology I practice is karmic astrology, also known as evolutionary astrology, and it is not fatalistic. Although I can accurately predict trends in a person’s life based on the position of the planets, I cannot accurately predict absolutes on a regular basis. I also do not believe that any astrologer can, although sometimes it is possible to really “hit the nail on the head” with one’s predictions.

However, in my book, more important than predicting exactly what may or may not happen to us is understanding ourselves, what is our purpose and how we can move in the direction of our destiny.  Once we truly understand ourselves, we can more easily put things into perspective in our lives. We can then understand that perhaps we are not ready to yet meet our soul mate; or perhaps we may have been blocking him or her from coming into our lives. Alternatively, perhaps this is not the most important thing for us to focus on in this lifetime anyway.

I analyzed a chart recently for a person who asked when she would meet her soul mate. Interestingly, her chart indicated that actually she had little interest in any kind of relationship, let alone one so profoundly important. Her main obsession was actually herself and she was almost completely closed down as far as relating to others was concerned. I believe I was able to help her to see that – so that in future her relationships would be far more meaningful, helpful and joyful to her. It meant that she had first to make a shift – actually quite a small one but a difficult one – but the pain and loneliness she had experienced up until this time, inspired her to want to make the shift that she needed to make.

This is a case in point. I could have looked at her chart and interpreted the nice progressed Venus cojunct Jupiter period as being indicative of finding her soul mate, or at the very least a romantic relationship. However, this would not have been very useful since the lady was not yet open to this, and even if her soul mate had knocked at her door she would not have answered it. What did happen during this time is that she was open to learn what she needed to learn about herself so that she is now ready for a positive relationship.

Karmic astrology deals with a person’s life a deeper level; his or her spiritual growth. It explains that what happens to us is a reflection of – #1 our karmic pattern over many lifetimes and – #2 what’s really going on inside us. It lights the way towards understanding ourselves, warts, talents and all – and shines a light on our unique skill set and potential.

I am not saying that prediction is without value. Of course it is. I absolutely love using predictive techniques and am enamored with transits, progressions and solar return charts. Prediction is extremely helpful. If we know in advance we are entering a period that is perfect for learning about relationships we can study, learn and generally take the time to do this. Instead of waiting for the soul mate to turn up, we can use prediction to take control of our lives so that during a period with “soul mate potential” we can make sure we’re ready, willing and able.  Otherwise, like a sugar pill fix, the opportunity will come, fizzle out and be gone.

You may say, “If it’s your karma to meet your soul mate at this time, surely you will do so.?”  I don’t have a fatalistic view of karma. Sure, it is the law of action and reaction; as we sow shall we reap. It is one of the great Laws of Creation and nothing – no word, no thought, no action - is every missed by this great Law. The Law of Karma may grind slowly over the lifetimes but it grinds exceedingly small and if by our past actions we have shown that we are now ready to have that terrific relationship of our dreams, nothing can stop it.  However, it doesn’t mean it will happen now. It just means that the potential is there for it to happen now. If we do nothing about it, nothing will happen. If it comes and we reject it, nothing will happen.  However, one thing is sure that the opportunity will present itself to us again and then again and, hopefully, we will then be ready.

Karmic astrology helps us to be ready for the great things and the small things. It helps us to align and attune with the great Universal flow of life. This flow that is so very apparent in Nature, for example. There was one day last week when all the trees on our street changed from green to orange so beautifully and so magically that I just had to believe in fairies (which I do.) The birds and whales migrate in unison; they are attuned to the flow. We humans have so much to learn but karmic astrology is a great tool to help us learn about - and align with - this flow. And when we do this, then we shall be ready when our soul mate arrives so that the relationship can then develop in the correct way.

Astrological prediction is fascinating and helpful but it is difficult to always be accurate because of the X factor of our free will. We constantly choose what we shall do and how we shall do it. Each one of us is unique and there are many variables in a human life. I meet people with fortunate natal charts with the most helpful planetary aspects – who do little with their lives. I meet others who really have to struggle with extremely difficult natal charts. This may manifest as disadvantaged childhoods and terrific challenges all their lives and yet through sheer strength of character, they turn their lives into such a positive expression of love and service. We can all become masters of our lives and of our destinies but the choice is ours to make.

There again, prediction is always difficult. The weather forecasters will agree with that. What I don’t like is when I hear people saying that an astrologer told them that if they didn’t meet their soul mate this year, then this is their last chance for happiness in a relationship. This is so ridiculous and so untrue. First of all, most of us probably won’t meet our soul mate in this lifetime but it certainly doesn’t mean that we won’t be able to develop loving, romantic relationships in the meantime. There is no such thing as a last chance for anything let alone happiness in any sphere of life.  Read my new book, Deeper into Love – more important, try some of the things I suggest, and you can prove for yourself that joy, love and abundance – all are choices for us to make on a daily basis.
