More information about Richard Rudis (Sonam Dorje):
Richard Rudis has studied Eastern philosophy and Buddhism in Asia and in the US for over twenty five years and is an American practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism. He is a long-time pilgrim and guide to sacred sites in Asia, and in 1996, while in Tibet, he was granted refuge in the Buddha from His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa and was given the Tibetan name Sonam Dorje (Meritorious Thunderbolt). He has been teaching Sacred Sound workshops and offering group healing sessions known as Gong Baths with the Himalayan (Buddhist) Sacred Sound Instruments across the US for over twelve years. (We have experienced many of his Gong Baths, and recommend the experience without equivocation; it was a marvelous healing event.) Richard is considered most knowledgeable in this esoteric field.

Richard holds degrees in Fine Arts and English from stateside universities, and is a recognized photographic artist, having studied with notables in the field including Paul Capreonegro, William Parker and Ansel Adams. He has taught the Zen of Photography at the university level, and has been a guest lecturer at various schools across New England.
