Char Schutte, an award-winning artist, jewelry maker, metalsmith, lapidary and potter, has been making heirloom-quality custom jewelry for over 13 years. Her work has been featured in galleries and shops across Colorado.

CharSchutte Char Schutte Born in Denver, Colorado, Char grew up surrounded by the beautiful and majestic Rocky Mountains. Captivated by her desire to recreate the beauty she saw in nature, Char developed her considerable artistic gifts and became interested in expressing herself through mixed media.

In 1994 Char began to pursue serious studies in jewelry making. Starting with metallurgy, she learned all the processes required for metalsmithing and jewelry creation. Throughout her college experience, Char had the opportunity to participate in master classes led by experts in the jewelry making industry. During these hands-on sessions Char learned the skills for casting, stone setting, wax carving, tool- making and more to create extraordinary works of jewelry art in mixed media, mixed metals and texturing.

In her Colorado studio Char applies her finely-honed talents to bring forward handcrafted jewelry and art from designs often created in collaboration with her clients. Not content to pursue only one type of art or media. She also enjoys making pottery and exploring other art media, and has made many beautiful yet functional pieces. Char is a member and a former board member of the Colorado Metalsmithing Association.
