Aimee Koster was born in beautiful and scenic Colorado, and has lived there most of her life. She believes there is a certain gravitational pull about the Rocky Mountains that always draws her back to the area. Aimee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Fort Lewis College where she focused on symbolic anthropology and religious studies. Her professional career has involved work with museum collections, archiving and collection design including The Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum and The Southwest Studies Center at Fort Lewis College.

Aimee’s photographic art is most influenced by the Spirit in all things, but she also uses her knowledge of symbolism and the way in which people interpret their world in her photography, seeing art itself as the ultimate expression of how we see the world. One of Aimee’s favorite quotes comes from Klingsor’s Last Summer by Herman Hesse: “Art was nothing but regarding the world in a state of grace; illumination. Art was revealing God behind all things.” Aimee keeps this idea at the forefront of her mind as she creates works of photographic art. A multi-faceted artist, Aimee also paints, writes, and creates whenever she can.
