2012: The Fall Out

Stepping out from dissatisfaction and into acceptance is the key to being in the moment and seeing from the lens of soul. Lately, I’ve noticed a plethora of new age websites, books, and light workers talking about 2012. The commonality shared is a split between two worlds: us versus them, light workers vs. the dark, good vs. evil, ascension vs. density, etc. Where one day, you’ll wake up within one of two parallel worlds – 3rd dimension or 5th dimension depending on how much work you did to get your act together, prepare and raise your physical vibration to match the frequency of integration of the higher self. And for the folks who truly believe this message, there is a palpable anxiety from hurrying, and scurrying from all that work to become your higher “perfected” self.

When I was in grade school in rural Palm Desert, California, I became fast friends with Rachel, whose curiosity for life matched mine. Rachel was a twin and a Jehovah Witness. Her sister Rochelle was the serious one who upheld the rules and followed her sister around to make sure she did the same. As time went on, Rachel and I got to talking about her religion, she told me how the end was coming and how her family was preparing for the afterlife.

Rachel had a soft and open heart, she clearly believed that being a good soul was important and that God was coming for her. As long as Rachel was speaking about faith, her twin sister didn’t mind our friendship. When Rachel asked her dad if I could come over for dinner, her sister quickly reminded me that they don’t mix with outsiders. One day Rachel came to school very sad, she mentioned that the special day when the world was going to end, didn’t. She went on to tell me that their church said it would happen next year.

Rachel’s story is similar to what many ‘new agers’ are hoping for in 2012, a moment in time when everything wrong becomes everything right because you were good, worked hard enough, had the right faith and held the steadfast belief that some higher outside force is going to take away all the pain in the world. I’ve encountered this same theme being played out in various religions on earth and it’s surfacing in the metaphysical world as well. Wear the right crystal, take the right essence, eat the right frequency food, live in the right community that’s in perfect vortex alignment, channel the right ascended master or have the right guru….yada, yada, yada.

Folks, I invite you to dismantle this old and worn out script by going in deep and asking yourself why do you need a moment in time when everything becomes heaven for you and hell for another? Examine the judgment, the implications of such a desire and the underlying need for separation. Since the dawn of time, human history has attempted to wipe out evil. Folks, you cannot wipe out energy, energy never ceases to exist. The only thing we are capable of doing is evolving ourselves from division into integration. Through integration, you cease casting stones by understanding that everything and everyone has a purpose. You stop trying to change another and start changing you. And when your tired and worn out from changing you, you let go. You accept what you are right now, and guess what? It’s all okay. Breathe. I love you.
